Airtel has launched cheap telephone calls from US to India at 1 cent a minute, with its calling service. Airtel’s one-cent-a-minute call service from US to India is the cheapest in the market, Airtel said.
Airtel’s online calling card service is at www.airtelcallhome.com.
For those Indians and NRIs in the US who wish to avail of the one cent a minute call service, visit the Airtel website and sign up as a new user. Within 60 minutes, Airtel will send you the details on how to sign in for the cheap calls service. The Airtel CallHome service is available across all states of the US. You can pay for the Calling Value Plan through the Master Card or VISA only.
Keep the following details in mind: (1) Account ID: you will require your Airtel account ID as your login to the website and also to make calls using Airtel CallHome. But if you are calling from one of your 10 registered numbers, you don’t need to remember this. (2) 4-digit PIN: This Will come in handy while making calls. The 4 digit PIN is an additional security feature to safeguard your Airtel CallHome account against any misuse but you can disable this while managing your account online. (3) Password: The password to login to the website for managing your account online.
How to make one-cent-a-minute call to India through Airtel Call Home:
First, store Airtel’s toll-free access number (1-877-247-4047) in your phone. Then, login to the Airtel CallHome website using the Account ID and Password sent by Airtel. Once you are logged in, configure the phone numbers from where you would be making your call from as a ‘Registered Number’. Now, go the section ‘Password’ and disable your 4-digit PIN. Now, click on the ‘Easy Dial’ section and assign a short code to the Indian telephone number you want to dial with Airtel Callhome telephone service.
From your phone, dial Airtel toll free number. Since you have registered your phone and disabled 4-digit PIN, you would be directly asked by Airtel CallHome to enter the destination telephone number. Just enter the short code (you configured in easy dial) and press # to connect instantly.
